Oatmeal Berry Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients (for one bowl):
- 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
- 1/2 cup frozen ripe banana, sliced (1/2 cup)
- 1/3 cup cooked Alara Scottish gluten-free organic oats
- 2 tablespoons nut or dairy milk
- Optional toppings: banana, sliced strawberries, raspberries, blueberries
Method:
- Cook Alara Scottish gluten-free organic oats in water until fully cooked.
- Transfer the cooked oats into a blender.
- Add berries and bananas to the blender with the oats.
- Blend the mixture until it reaches a super smooth consistency.
- Pour the blended mixture into a bowl.
- Top the bowl with your favourite toppings.
Christmas Oat Cookies
Ingredients (for 15/16 cookies):
- 2 cups of Alara Fruity Oats Gluten Free Muesli
- 2 medium-sized eggs (only the egg white/albumen)
- 2 bananas
- 1 ½ tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup coconut oil
- ½ cup brown sugar
Method:
- Preheat your oven to 180 C.
- Mash down the ripened bananas in a bowl using a fork.
- Crack the eggs and use only the albumen (egg white)
- Add all other ingredients including the oats.
- Shape your cookies and place them on a prepped baking tray.
- Bake the cookies for 20-30 minutes to achieve a soft inside and a crisp outside.
Mixed Seed and Goji Berry Flapjacks
Ingredients (for +/- 12 squares):
- 150g unsalted butter
- 150g brown sugar
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
- 200g any Alara oats of your choice
- 60g sunflower seeds
- 60g pumpkin seeds
- 60g goji berries
Method:
- Preheat your oven to 180 C and prepare your baking tray.
- Melt the butter, sugar and golden syrup and mix with a wooden spoon until completely melted.
- Add your jumbo oats, mix until they are completely coated
- Slowly add all other ingredients
- Spoon into your lined baking tray and pat down.
- Bake until it begins to brown – roughly 15-20 minutes (Or longer if you’d prefer your flapjacks less chewy)
- Once baked, allow cooling before cutting into 12-15 equal squares
Vegan Bean and Oat Burger Patties
Ingredients (for 4 patties):
- 1 can of black beans
- 80ml BBQ sauce
- 70g of Alara oats of your choice
- 1 chopped onion
- Garlic salt to taste
- Cooking oil of your choice
Method:
- Preheat oven to 220 C.
- Grease or spray a small sheet pan with cooking spray or oil.
- In a large food processor; process the oats until chopped, but not flour.
- Fry your diced onions until brown in a pan.
- Add the drained beans to the pan.
- Add onion and bean mixture to food processor and pulse until blended, but beans are still slightly chunky.
- Transfer mixture to a medium bowl and stir in the BBQ sauce.
- After wetting your hands, shape the bean mixture into four patties.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 7 minutes.
- Open oven and, using a spatula, turn over patties.
- Bake for 6 to 8 minutes longer until browned and crispy at the edges.
5-Ingredient Individual Oat Apple Crumble
Ingredients (for 2 crumbles):
For filling:
- 1 apple, peeled and cubed
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
For topping:
- 3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 tbsp Alara Old Fashioned Oats
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180 C.
- Toss apples with sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Divide apples into 2 ramekins, push down and set.
- Mix flour and sugar, then add melted butter in a bowl.
- Mix with a fork, until the mixture clumps together.
- Mix in oats and nuts.
- Sprinkle crumble evenly on top of the apple mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes, until golden brown.
