Poems February 2010
Poem of the Month:
 Nature in My Palette
The other day I took out my palette,
And squeezed a dollop from the tubes of the following paints:
Floral-white, Peachfluff-white, Honeydew-white,
Seashell-white, Snowy-white, Ivory-white.
Daffodil-yellow, Lemon-yellow, Blanched Almond,
Orange and Papayawhipp.

Then I reached for the following tubes,
And added a few dollops of each:
Rose-pink, Salmon-pink,
Coral-red, Tomato-red,
Sky-blue, Cornflower-blue
Violet-purple, Lavender-purple.

Taking care to add just a hint of the following…
Olive-green, Forest-green, Light Sea-green,
Lime-green, Emerald-green,
Spring-green, Lawn-green,
I realised that last but not least I mustn`t forget to add:
Burlywood-brown, Chocolate Brown and Wheat-beige.

Hold on!!

If we destroy nature, what colours will I paint with?!

Inspirational freezing
 Remember when...
life was too short to life in fear and regret.
Don’t wallow in negative things.
Grudges are a waste of perfect happiness
Laugh when you can, apologize when you should
And let go of what you cannot change
Love deeply and forgive quickly
Take chances. Give everything and have no regrets
Life is too short to be unhappy
You have to take the good with the bad
Smile when you’re sad and love what you got
And always remember what you had. Always forgive but never forget
Learn from your mistakes. But never regret
People change, and things go wrong. But always remember
Life goes on!!!(And on and on)
Over the season of winter, that is what I think. My favourite season always brings out the best in me. I call it inspirational freezing. And you’ll probably call me crazy. It doesn’t matter what you think of me, you just have to believe in me. & Believe in the words above.

Brink
 Standing on the brink;
Man a servant of greed.
The veil of mortality
Covering its growth.

One chance to succeed,
Several to fail.
One chance to regain
The birth of life.

Man is no match -
Failure complete.
Life begins over.
Man reigns no more.

Fairy
I’m not quite sure you heard it.
Once the birds started singing blues.

I’m not quite sure you saw it.
Once the grass turned magenta.

I’m not quite sure you felt it.
Once my skin turned stainless steel.

I’m not quite sure you smelled it.
Once the pollen smelled of gunpowder.

I’m not quite sure you tasted it.
Once the kiss felt all wrong – not as sweet,
not as tender,
not as wanted,
not as loved.
Some might say that heart has frozen, but my brain keeps boiling over the edge.
Degradation.
An easy escape from the miscellaneous “wonders” of life.
Deformation…
…of body and soul might bring revelation on the counter part.
Some will keep on talking about alienation of soul from the body and other stuff of the same philosophy, but…
…actually it all really started when first fairy died just beneath my belly button.

FOGGED IN
 FOGGED IN
Andrew M

All day long been in a fog
Feel like a bump on the log
Head and body not feeling right
Nothings screwed on tight

Seems that when I think
I’m walking in a thick drink
Ever so slow is how I move
Can’t seem to find that groove

The best thing I should do instead
Of doing this is going back to bed
Sleep the molasses out of my head
Rise up like a fresh baked loaf a bread

Ready tio start the day head on
Fog has lifted molasses all gone
I could see for miles and miles
Leaves stacked in piles and piles

We run and jump from pile to pile
Felt like little kids at least for awhile
Well tomorrow’s another day
Aftr my wife applies Ben-Gay!!
